sphere of Odisha. The Odisha Inc Awards 2013 will be conferred on
Business icons and entrepreneurs of the state who have excelled and
inspired many minds in their respective fields.
On the
occasion of 9th Foundation Day of the popular website, these awards will be
announced along with Odisha Living Legend Awards, Odisha Youth Inspiration Awards
on 13th November 2013 at Jaydev Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.
Odisha
Governor SC Jamir likely to attend the event as chief guest, Loksabha Speaker
Meira Kumar, Union Minister Shashi Tharoor, Odisha Finance Minister Prasana
Achrya, Health Minister Dr. Damodar Rout and Energy and IPR Minister Arun Sahoo
likely to attend as guest of honour along with MP Prasana Patasani.
On this
occasion OdishaDiary group will launch business portal www.odishainc.com .
Odisha Living Legend Awards established by OdishaDiary (OD) in 2011, has been
recognised as a novel way to acknowledge and honour great contributions to
Odisha. The idea of Living Legend Award is slightly different from the Life
Time Achievement Award. Odisha Diary considers those people and their
initiatives as Living Legends who have made seminal contribution to their
chosen fields and have impacted the Odia society at large. They are proud Odias
who continue to work and inspire the second and third generations of Odias to
follow their path. From last two years leading Odias like Tulasi Munda,
Sitakanta Mohapatra, Jharana Das, Dilip Tireky, Chittiama, Smt Manorama
Mahapatra , Bibhuti Patnaik , Uttam Mohanty, Dr. Subhakanta Behera , Nilamadhav
Panda, Dr. Santrupta Mishra, Kishore Mania etc were awarded as Living Legends.
This year addition of Odisha Inc Award is twofold; one is to recognize and
promote the great and inspiring initiatives in the business sphere of Odisha
and the second is to connect them to their motherland for the development of
the sate.
OdishaDiary,
the pioneer in online news on Odisha, was founded on 11 November 2005. In last
nine years the OD has fast entrenched itself in the lives of a young and dynamic
readership on Odisha throughout the globe.
Nevertheless,
OdishaDiary’s central focus remains on the lived experiences of Odias and their
overall socio-cultural, political, economic, human and spiritual
development.
On 11th
November 2011 OD completed six years of its successful operation. On this
occasion of 6th Foundation Day, OdishaDiary.co had set up annual Odisha Living
Legend Awards. The idea has been to celebrate the success stories of Odias.
Like last year this year the function will be held in the state capital
Bhubaneswar at Jaydev Bhawan, on November 10, 2012. On this occasion
Odishadiary will honour distinguished personalities and youth leaders from
different fields of Odisha.
The
Odisha Living Legend, Odisha Inc and Youth Inspiration awardees will be
nominated and/or selected by a committee/team of experts constituted by the
Orissa Diary. If required the committee or a group of members of the Awards
Committee may undertake a field visit to get firsthand knowledge of
achievements claimed by a reader/nominator/awards committee in support of their
entry for the award. OD team has conducted extensive telephonic conversation
with independent panel members located in India and abroad to prepare a final
list. On the basis of past exemplary work, impact and legacy Orissa Diary Team
reserves the right to select any individual or institution even when there is
no nomination from the awards committee and OrissaDiary readers.
