It was deliberated in the event that Frugal Engineering holds immense
potential for a country like India where both resources & energy are
scarce. Moreover India has a tradition of frugal innovations and has
achievements of highest value such as astronomy, urban sewer
treatment, encryption etc. The modern innovations like Mitticool,
India Mark-II Hand Pump, Jeypore foot, agricultural retrofitting
equipments to achieve tasks are very very innovative and useful. The
products that are flooding the market have a primary feature and a
secondary feature. Sometimes the stress on the secondary feature is so
intense that little is done to improve the primary objective of the
product. Engineers should remain sensitive to such issues while
designing products or erecting facilities.

The event culminated with a dance performance titled “Hari Om” by
Miss.Satarupa from Damanjodi.
